<div itemprop="description"><br>It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Myrtle Thompson on August 28, 2016 at 84 years old at the Toronto East York Hospital. Cherished mother to her only child Derek and daughter-in-law Karine. Loving grandmother to her two grandchildren Maija and Isaiah. Former wife of the late Leonard Thompson (2012). Survived by her sister Hazel, her brothers Allan, Joe and the late brother Eric. She will be missed by her many cousins Nola (Rodrick), Avis (late Oliver), Arlington (Carl), Kerwin, the late Winston, the late Barbie, Patsy (Cecil), Glenroy (Sonny Boy), the late Phyllis, the late Malcom, the late Dot, Candice, Hazel, Beverly, and the late June. Will be fondly remembered by many nieces Suzette, Kim (Garry), Evelyn (Claude), Merlin, and extended family, friends and all that had the pleasure of knowing her. <br> <br>Myrtle’s family wishes to thank all the staff of Atrium at Kew Beach Retirement Residence for their loving care and compassion. A special thank-you to the wonderful support Doctors and nurses at the Toronto East York Hospital. A service will be held at Highland Funeral Home (3280 Sheppard Ave E, Scarborough) on Saturday September 3, 2016 at 11am. Reception to follow at funeral home. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flower donations in Myrtle’s memory, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
