February 13, 1957 – May 18, 2016
IWAI, Yoko – After a courageous battle with cancer, Yoko went home to be with her Lord and her son Michael, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the age of 59.
Beloved wife of Shozo of 17 years. Loving mother to Ken and Michael Shibasaki and cherished step-mother to Jennifer and Plato Fountidakis. Devoted grandmother to Quincy, Tristyn and Naomi. Survived by her sister Michiko Tanaka in Japan. Yoko will be greatly missed by her church family and the Japanese community in the GTA.
Retired ANA (All Nippon Airlines) employee for 15 years. In their retirement, Yoko and Shozo’s ministry was to the transient Japanese young people on temporary visa in Toronto through the Jesus Family Gospel Group.
VISITATION ONLY will take place at the HIGHLAND FUNERAL HOME – SCARBOROUGH CHAPEL, 3280 Sheppard Ave., E. (just west of Warden Ave.) 416-773-0933 on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 6:00PM – 9:00PM. Memories can be shared at www.highlandfuneralhome.ca.
