“ We wanted to spend the rest of our lives with you, but instead we are deeply honored to know that you spent the rest of your life with us.”

Early Sunday morning (0355 hrs.) surrounded by her family, our dearest Mummy, Peggie took her final breath. She fought long and hard not to leave, but the nature of life took its path, and she left our arms for the comfort of those of our Loving Lord.

Having beaten cancer twice and a triple by-pass, Peggie, a proud Bajan-Canadian, continued to amaze everyone with her comebacks. There was always one more trip / adventure awaiting. Those who knew this miraculous woman know that her suitcase was never unpacked. She was always ready to engage anyone in conversation, ever eager to learn something new. Lovingly known as "hot foot", she was always ready to go at a moment's notice whether for a stay in a local hotel, a cruise in the Caribbean or a hair-raising ride on the Autobahn. However, she would put everything on hold however whenever tennis was on, and her boys, Roger and Rafael were playing. The only things greater than this were her grandchildren of whom she spoke of frequently with great joy and obvious pride - her other three children.

She has left behind her beloved son, Adrian (Caroline), cherished daughter Andrea (Ronald-deceased), adored daughter Alicia, favorite grandson Charles Jr. (Vaneica), treasured granddaughter, Janelle, her doppleganger grand-daughter, Gabrielle and ex-husband/friend, Arden (Olga). She will be missed by her grieving sisters (Sheila, Cecile, Phyllis and Pauline), in-laws (especially Patricia), Arden Jr., heart-broken nieces and nephews, friends, her colleagues at Sick Kid's Hospital and the extended family of women and men who grew up knowing her smile and kindness; all whom have been left with a great legacy of love, passion and humour.

I know many children are lucky enough to say that they had wonderful mothers but, we were blessed with the right mother for us. She loved us fiercely and loved her grandchildren with the same ferocity. There was never any doubt....never a second thought....we knew she had our backs in any fight....and because she raised us right, she never doubted our word and leapt to our defense, with claws outstretched.

The original "Tiger Mom", Aunt Sally, Grandma Sally, Snoopy, Peggerts, Pea, has finally left the casino, cashed in her winnings and boarded her dream RV, to be reunited with her ancestors and to cheer the Jays to victory.

She will be missed dearly and loved eternally.

A cremation will take place following a celebration of her life.

Donations can be made in her name to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, both organizations that she passionately supported.

Finally, as Winston Churchill wrote, "I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is ready for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter."
