Jasmin Rose B. Baguioro passed away peacefully at 9:00 pm on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. After an eleven-month long battle with cancer, Jasmin Rose succumbed to her illness and leaves behind her parents Rosalinda and Jose Baguioro and five siblings – Jo Ann Baguioro (Thompson) (spouse Paul Thompson), Josie (Baguioro) Bautista, Jonas Baguioro (spouse Anna Yang), Jude Baguioro (spouse Maricel Samson) and Jay Baguioro, her six nieces and nephews – Jacob and Alexandra (Baguioro-Thompson), William and Edward (Baguioro-Bautista), Kayla and Alexis (Samson-Baguioro), and her 14 year old Jack Russell, Buckins. Jasmin was 37 years old, only 3 days shy of what would have been her 38th birthday.

Born in Iloilo City, Philippines on August 6, 1975, Jasmin was the fourth child in the family and the youngest of three daughters. She attended St. Mary Mazzarello Catholic School, a private Roman Catholic school for girls run by Salesian Holy Sisters in Victorias, Negros Occidental from Grade 1 to Grade 6 and immigrated to Toronto, Canada with the rest of the family on August 1, 1987 at the height of the Philippines’ political revolution. After having spent her first Summer getting acquainted with Canadian culture, Jasmin attended Holy Spirit Catholic Elementary School completing Grades 7 and 8. In 1989 to her graduating year in 1993, she was enrolled at Francis Libermann Catholic High School where she completed her secondary studies from Grades 9 to 12.

The year 1993 marked the beginning of Jasmin`s many adventures from discovering her individuality and social style to weighing the scales of commitment to hard work and higher education and understanding the importance of human relationships and purpose in life.

Her love and respect for higher education proved to be her passion as it was fueled by her commitment and occupation in the healthcare industry spanning almost 20 years. Jasmin Rose was a dedicated and dynamic working student having diligently completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management (Class of 2012) at Ryerson University. She also successfully completed the Health Information Management Program with the Canadian Healthcare Association and was afforded the professional designation of Certified Health Information Management Professional (CHIM). Her academic studies were in conjunction with her professional employment with the North York General Hospital as Decision Support Analyst and as a Health Information Professional with The Scarborough Hospital.

Her love for canines and devotion to rescue those less fortunate also proved her gracious and noble nature. Jasmin Rose played an integral role in the adoption and rescue of six of the family’s canine companions in the last 22 years from (four beagles) Buster, Shorty, Kiana, Snoopy and (two Jack Russells) Buddy and Buckins. Her tireless efforts and strong sense of obligation to provide the much needed necessities to save lives remains applauded.

Her love for children and upholding the role of Godmother especially to her six nieces and nephews was considerably most remarkable. She filled the shoes of guardians and walked in them; she wore many seasoned hats in the family all in the name of love, her love for all children.

In 2012, she founded Jasmin Rose Designs, a privately held company specializing in handmade premium quality jewellery products. Born out of passion and creativity, she designed unique crystal and other precious beaded ornaments to raise awareness and support for cancer research and to rediscover and unlock the beauty that is within each one of us making it in line with her mantra “Creating Joy For Life –One Bead At A Time”.

Jasmin Rose B. Baguioro joins her paternal grandparents Fortunata and Manuel Baguioro and maternal grandparents Constancia and Platon Biboso and a host of canine companions – beagles Buster, Shorty and Kiana and Jack Russell Buddy.

Jasmin Rose is known for her generosity, sense of humour, strength, courage and independence. Above all, her love of God, dedication to family and children, friends and canine companions and respect for higher education and passion for creativity define who she is. Jasmin Rose – daughter, sister, aunt, Godmother, confidante and friend - will be greatly missed. May her soul rest in peace with God the Almighty.

Jasmin Rose B.
