James Leslie McGrath, 61, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away on Wednesday September 11th, 2013 at Scarborough General Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Toronto to Frank and Elizabeth (Betty) McGrath, spending the early part of his life in Whitby and then returning to Toronto.
James was a charismatic and loyal individual who dedicated most of his adult life to the Toronto police service and then later to the Toronto Transit Commission. As a young adult he played lacrosse and hockey where he was an amazing goalie for Ajax Steelers.
He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Palmer, Children Melissa, Ian, Brian, and Leslie. Grandchildren Brennan, Aiden, Liam, Carter, Abbey, and Jaiden.
Sister Peggy and brothers Michael and Robin.
The Family would like to express there sincere gratitude to Dr. Clasky and all the staff at the critical care unit of the Scarborough General for the care he received with them.
