<div itemprop="description">Passed peacefully on April 18, 2015 in his 88th year at Sunnybrook Hospital with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband to Barbara (nee Jackson) for 62 wonderful years as his loving and caring wife. Devoted father to daughters Cindy (Dennis, deceased) and Susan (Phillip). He loved and cared for his many dogs, cats and grand cats. Survived by his sister Vivienne and brother in law Arthur. Will be remembered by his nieces Sandi and Pamela and nephews Michael, John and Peter. He had several great nieces and nephews and was especially close to Derek and Greg. Predeceased by his sister Joan, brother George, sister in law Beryl, nephew Ron and niece Janice. He will be greatly missed by family and friends and all who knew him. Born in Nassau, Bahamas Charlie came to Canada in 1945 and became a proud Canadian. He was a member of St. Michaels and All Angels Anglican church Servers Guild where he developed many friendships some of which are still enjoyed today. Worked at Garden City Press for 42 years retiring at 60 years of age. He was the best father and husband anyone could ask for, always putting the needs of others ahead of his own. Charlie had a warm and welcoming smile for everyone he met and everyone he met loved him. The family would like to thank the paramedics, emergency room and CrCU staff at Sunnybrook hospital for their care and support. Friends and family will be received at the Highland Funeral Home &quot;Scarborough Chapel&quot;, 3280 Sheppard Avenue East (West of Warden Ave.), 416-773-0933 on Wednesday April 22nd from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday April 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sunnybrook Hospital, Canadian Lung Association, Canadian Diabetes Society or Canadian Heart &amp; Stroke Foundation.
